Affairs of the heart

(Decicated to someone who reintroduced me to the joys of poetry)

Dancing eyes,
light and spirited like the galloping stallion
with the scent of freedom in his nostrils,
entice the foolish heart.

Tears-
droplets on the hot dessert sand
that fade away and die.
Fade away and die.

Moist lips,
tender as the forgotten dew
hidden in the bosom of Oleanders,
seduce the soul.

Cries-
lonely blizzard
howling at the unfeeling artic.
Howling at the frozen ice.

Raven hair,
mischievous like the ripples
in breeze blown paddy fields,
charm the spirit away.

Pain-
light drizzle on a dark night,
a shiver acknowledges the chill,
shiver embraces the cold.

Joyful heart,
laughing at the west winds whistle
nodding a welcome
to the arriving moment.

Fear-
unwelcome guest
knocks on the door.
Knocks on the door and stays.
